Siddharth Randeria Born in Mumbai on 17 December 1955, son of Professor Madhukar Randeria (Jai hind college) a renowned writer, poet and pioneer of modern Gujarati theatre.
In a career spanning over 35 years Siddharth Randeria has become the most successful actor, director, writer, producer in Gujrati Theater.
With over 20,000 live performances and being associated with over 80 theater productions, Siddharth Randeria is the most prolific and versatile thespian in the Gujrati circuit and well recognized artist among the Gujrati community worldwide.
He started acting with Indian National Theatre’s Children plays during his schooling years. Took part in plays for All India Radio from the age of 9 years. Participated in inter-college drama competitions held by Mumbai University, INT, IPTA, etc. and won several best actor awards.
His career on the professional stage started in 1974. When he acted in plays directed by the esteemed late Pravin Joshi, namely Santu Rangili (Tee Phulrani), Jooth bole kaua kate with Paresh Rawal and Vairi (co- staring Arundhati Rao and Shankar Nag) Gurubramhma (Shafi Inamdar), Mantra Mugdha (Mohan Vagh, Mahesh Manjrekar) Mahamaanav (Kanti Madia), Savita Damodar Paranjape, Cheel Zadap (Rima Lagoo), Natsamraat (V.V Shirvadkar).
He is the only actor-director of Gujarati stage to have given more than 20 consecutive Hit plays, each crossing 300 performances in less than a year.
His last drama “Lage Rhaho Gujjubhai” has set a new record on Gujarati theatre by completing 750 shows in a span of 3 years. His recently concluded drama Gujjubhai Ghode Chadiya completed 450 shows and the current play Gujjubhai ni Golmaal is already getting fantastic response with the opening shows being sold out within a couple of hours at the boxoffice.
All his current plays have been major hits, even his current play Gujjubhai banya Dabang is a major success.
He has received numerous national and international awards.
Apart from performances in Mumbai and through the length and breath of Gujarat, he has been invited and traveled to U.S.A, U.K, Australia, New Zealand, East Africa, U.A.E, Singapore, and Malaysia, every year with his troop. Through the years he has generated tremendous goodwill and has a dedicated fan base in India and abroad.
Tough a reputed actor he has written, directed and collaborated on many plays with the likes of Sachin Khedekar, Sharman Joshi, Dilip Joshi, Jatin Kanakiya, Tiku Talsania, etc with great success.
